Breaking the Rules of Revenge

Breaking the Rules of Revenge

Book Review: ♥ ♥ +

Absolutely loved this book! It had everything I like rolled into one beautiful little parcel. Breaking the Rules of Revenge is definitely going on my favourite shelf.

Mallory Jones is an identical twin. She is the quiet, head in a book twin, while her twin is an extrovert. Blake is loud, over confident and a whole dose of trouble. Mallory plays an instrument, follows the rules and keeps her head down. Blake is good at sport, popular, and still Math smart. Mallory is given the chance to swap her life for Blakes and she decides to take her up on the offer. Little does she know Blakes life is about to catch up with her.

Ben hates Blake with a passion. He would go as far as calling her evil. She has made his life a living hell over the last year, and he has had enough. His mother has sent him away for the summer to camp, but his problems have followed him. The root of all evil is at camp too! He decides to take matters into his own hands, and get Blake back for all the trouble she caused him.

This summer Blake seems different to what he remembers from school. She actually seems nice. He might even dare to say he likes her but, Blake isn't what she seems.

This book had me laughing and loving every minute. Twin swap at its best. Mallory is about to get what Blake deserves, and it may just turn out to be the hottest summer ever.

This is a camp story full of pranks and summer fun. 5+ stars out of 5. I didn't want this book to end. I want more!!!

Boomerang Boyfriend

Boomerang Boyfriend (Boyfriend Chronicles)

Book Review:

Delia is Jack's sisters best friend. She is always at Jacks house, and it feels like she is almost like family. He sees her as an annoying younger sister figure and has never thought of her as anything more. That is until she ends up getting a job at his work place, and they end up taking some art classes together. When his sister isn't by Delia side, he begins to notice her as more than an annoyance.

Delia's mum and dad work a lot. She finds herself hanging out with her best friends most of the time. Zoe, her best friend has a boyfriend, and Delia is interested in his friend, Aiden. They kissed once, and now she can't work out why he's been acting strangely. The more she tries to figure Aiden out the more she seems to notice Jack. She must be having a boy break-down because Jack is a jerk. He's not boyfriend material.

For the most part, I enjoyed reading this book. Both Jack and Delia are loveable. There were so funny parts in the book, and there was more to the story than just the two of them. However, there were certain parts of the story I found a little irritating.

Delia and Jack seem to start finding each other physically attractive rather than mentally. I know they have known each other a long time, but I felt Delia was just looking for a boyfriend rather than the perfect one.

The other love interest, Aiden was my least part of the story. Delia not dating him was a big part of this book, and I just didn't love it. I felt she could have been more supportive of his situation. I didn't like her obsessing over someone who was hot, and then cold.

3.5 stars out of 5. *ARC received in exchange for a fair review*

Before I Knew

Before I Knew (Cabot #1)

My Book Review:

Jamie Beck is one of my favourite authors, and I'm always excited when she brings out a new book. Before I knew is the start of a new series, The Cabots.

Books dealing with grief are not my favourite, especially when it is one of the main themes in a story. However, with this said I still enjoyed this book. It has a lot going on, and the story was really interesting.

Colby Cabot-Baxter lost her husband 2 years ago and has never recovered. It's not because he was the love of her life, or she can't imagine life without him. She can't get over the circumstances surrounding his death. Growing up she has always been close with the boys next door, Joe and Alec. Her husband and Joe were involved in an incident that leads to both of their deaths. Joe accidentally kills himself taking part in a stupid dare, and Mark, her husband committed suicide as an after effect. Colby's relationship with Alec became non-existent, and they both lost everything. 2 years later they are both ready to try, and fix their life's and families. Colby starts a restaurant, and her brother hires Alec as the head chef. They need to work together to save them both.

4 stars out of 5. *ARC received, however, I read this book view Kindle Unlimited* I've read all of Jamie Becks books, and I'm a huge fan. Her writing style sucks me in, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Pretend to be from Spain? Act like she can barely speak English? Sure, why not? It wouldn’t be the first time Gabby Vega had agreed to a challenge from her best friend, Kenzie. Besides, it’s only for a week of vacation with Kenzie’s cousins. Gabby will prove to Kenzie she can keep up the fake identity for the whole trip—that she’s not a quitter.
There’s just one major surprise. Noah Jernigan is also staying with Kenzie’s cousins. Noah, the boy she fell in love with at drama camp last summer and the boy she had to dump when it was over. The boy who knows who she really is.
Noah can’t believe it when Gabby appears at the Bryson’s vacation home in the New Mexico mountains. He hasn’t seen her in a year. It practically took that long just to get over her. And now she’s Gabriela from Spain? All he wants is to get as far away as he can. Or maybe the exact opposite. Stick as close to her as possible and find out what the heck happened last summer. And definitely get some payback.
Now Gabby has to keep Noah at arm’s length as she pretends to be Gabriela. She doesn’t want to answer his questions or rehash last summer. Because one thing is clear—the more time she spends with Noah, the more she’s in danger of falling for him all over again.

Seventeen-year-old Autumn Teslow arrives at her father’s job fair knowing she’ll never measure up to the perfect image of daddy’s little girl—her twin sister.
Wearing anger management issues like a second skin won’t help Autumn win her dad’s approval for the big trip she’s been planning—or meet his condition that she successfully complete a summer internship for college.
Autumn’s cool unravels when her sister lectures against disappointing the family again. And when a young, bearded guy steps through the crowd to settle the growing argument between siblings, Autumn lashes out, dubbing him a “Duck Dynasty wannabe.”
At Nineteen, Caden Behr is clueless as to why his man parts are threatened by the fearsome girl before him. He’d only come to find an intern for his recreational equipment company, not break up a girl-fight between two sisters.
Unfortunately, the only candidate left is the girl who just told him off. Without her, he’ll never prove to his CEO mother that he’s ready for more responsibility.
Autumn and Caden agree that if they can keep from killing one another, they can use one another to get what they want and then never have to see each other again. Which is what they want.
Until it isn’t.
Because despite her best efforts to scare him off, and his fading desire to push her into the lake, they’re beginning to enjoy the time they spend together. But pride is a hard habit to break. And if neither will admit their changing feelings, they could lose a whole lot more than one summer.

As a child, Julie’s summers were about horseback riding and fishing, while winter brought sledding and ice-skating on frozen ponds. Most of life was magical, but not all. She struggled with multiple learning disabilities, and spent much of her time gazing out windows and daydreaming. In the fourth grade (with the help of one very nice teacher) she fought dyslexia for her right to read and won. Afterward, she invented stories where powerful heroines kicked bad-guy butt to win the hearts charismatic heroes. And then she wrote one down… Writing ever since, Julie weaves southern gothic, contemporary, fantasy, and young adult romances. She enjoys sweeping tales of mystery and epic adventure… which must include a really hot guy. Her writing is proof a dream and some hard work can overcome any obstacle.

School is out and Lucy is ready for the perfect summer: lazy days at the pool, invitations to the most exclusive parties, and romantic dates with her hot new boyfriend. That is, until she lands in trouble one too many times and her parents issue the ultimate punishment: a summer job. Suddenly, the summer can’t end fast enough.
To make matters worse, the job is painting houses with Justin, the most popular, egotistical guy in school. Spending all summer with Justin might be other girls’ dreams, but definitely not Lucy’s. After all, Justin is cocky, annoying, and a jerk. So what if he’s the most beautiful jerk Lucy’s ever seen? Or that his grin makes her forget she’s mad at the world? Or that maybe, just maybe, there’s more to Justin than Lucy realizes. Only one thing is certain: it won’t be the summer she wanted, but it might be exactly the one she needs.

My Book Review: ♥ ♥

Wow! I already feel I will not be able to do this book justice with my review. When I read the blurb for The Tigers Watch I was intrigued. However, I wasn't sure if it was going to be for me. I'm so glad I gave it a shot. The writing style sucked me in, and I really enjoyed the story. The Tigers Watch just got better, and better. I can't wait for the next one. I want it now!

Tashi has a bonded animal who helps her to spy and kill enemies. She has to leave the capital after it is over run. She ends up going into hiding in a monastery, but her enemy has caught up with her. She poses as a servant. This is where the young, fearless commander, Xian finds her and wants Tashi to service him personally.
Xian is not the man she thought he was, and her own beliefs are being questioned. Tashi has a duty to her people to spy on the commander, but the more she learns, the more she has doubts. As time goes on she sees a softer more pleasant side to Xian, and a harder side to the faith she has grown up trusting. The lines become blurred, and Tashi has some difficult decisions to make.

5 stars out of 5. I want more of this series. The artwork for this book is good, however, I think it doesn't do it justice. It is part of the reason I was unsure about wanting to read it. As they say, don't judge a book by its cover. I'd recommend you try a sample of The Tigers Watch I was hooked right from the start.
