Promised at the Moon (Shifter Rising #1)
Rebekah R. Ganiere
Book Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ❣
I enjoyed this story but
as a shifter novel I have read better. I have read a lot of werewolf etc
romance novels and I guess I have come to have high expectations of the
word Alpha. To me it means cocky and dominant, this just wasn’t this
book. I also felt the shifter element was more a curse than anything. If
you take this book for what it is ignoring my hang ups on shifter
novels the story its self wasn’t bad.
Natasha was promised to Daniel when she was naïve and young. As they got older he turned out not to be who she thought he was and had a cruel nature. She realised she couldn’t go through with the matching and decided she needed to escape her fate. She believed Daniel was vindictive enough to kill her parents and she found herself having to set up a new life.
Liam is a lone wolf who is paid to help Natasha set up her new home and gives her the option of attending the local college. He doesn’t want to get too attached but feels she is in need of guidance. He has his work cut out for him because he doesn’t realise how naïve she still is.
3.5 stars out of 5. This is a standalone novel which will become part of a bigger series.
