The Shameless Hour

The Shameless Hour (The Ivy Years #4)

My Review: ♥ ♥

What a sweetie! Rafe is the perfect good guy. He speaks two languages (Spanish and American) which is always hot. He may not be a hockey player, but he is still drop dead gorgeous. Bella is the player in this book and the unattainable. She doesn't do relationships just friends with benefits.

After a rough night, Rafe finds himself in need of a friend. Bella is one of his dorm neighbours. She's charming, funny and a real beauty. After some sweet talking by Bella, they do the horizontal tango. It gets a little awkward after. Rafe likes to be in a committed relationship, and it isn't Bella's style, but when she needs him he's there. They get partnered together on a project that means a lot to Rafe. For the first time, Bella finds something more than hockey.

Bella is the hockey teams go to girl. She orders the supplies and looks after her players. She sleeps, eats, and breathes hockey. She is a big fan of sex and isn't ashamed of it. If you have read The Understatement of the year you will have already had a glimpse into Bella's life. Graham was her favourite player, but unfortunately, things didn't work out. Her failed relationships have left her guarded. One night stands or friends with benefits are easier. That is until it all goes wrong.

The Shameless Hour had me gripped at every word. It isn't all puppies and flowers. The events that happen in this book are shocking and the way Bella handles them shows how strong a person she is. With a little help from Rafe and a new friend, she can achieve anything.

The family dynamics of this book were interesting too. The rich girl that should have everything and the poor boy who has the love only a family can give. Rafe is a sweet mamas boy and Bella is hardly talking to her family. I also loved the reversed roles. She's the non-relationship one.

I haven't read The Ivy years in the correct sequence so unfortunately, this is my last one. I love Sarina Bowen's books and I'm so sad this series is over for me. The reason I've read these books out of order is due to opportunity. If you sign up to the author's emails she likes to put different books on special offers every so often. I bought book 5 at reduced rates. It's probably better to read these in order but not essential.

The shameless hour is an easy 5-stars out of 5. I have so much love for this book. It is probably better not to read this book in public you may just have a hot flush ;).
