She's all that meets gossip girl

Beauty and the Nerd

This book was predictable but beautifully executed. It's the first book in a series, however, can be read as a standalone with a happy ever after.

Rimmel is roped into tutoring the star of the football team, Romeo. He's everything you'd expect good looking, arrogant, popular and a total player. He everything she's not and Football is his life. Rimmel just wants to keep her head down and her scholarship.
Romeo wants to gain membership to the exclusive frat house on campus which he hopes can boost his career chances. They want him to win over the nerd. The problem is the more he gets to know her the more the things he thought he wanted seem trivial.

Unexpectedly Hers

Unexpectedly Hers (Sterling Canyon #3)

Book Review:

Emma shared a night of passion years ago, with a man story books are made out of. In fact, she is about to publish that very book under a pen name. In her everyday life, Emma helps run the family's bed n breakfast. She is nothing like the character in her book. She is considered a wallflower.
Her mum has planned a trip away leaving Emma in charge of the B & B. The man of her dreams ends up being her guest, but he comes with his own baggage. A film crew are doing a story about his career come back. He is a professional skier, but things have changed. He's now the player she once knew.

4 stars out of 5. This book felt a little different to the other books by this author, however, is worth the read.

Coming Up for Air

Coming Up for Air (Hundred Oaks)

Miranda Kenneally

Book Review: ♥ ♥

I was so excited to gain an ARC of this book, and it didn't disappoint. I couldn't put it down.

Maggie's life revolves around swim. Eat, sleep, swim and swim some more. She wants to be one of the best, and that means practice, practice and more practice. She hasn't had time to enjoy the normal high school experience. She decides she needs help from her best friend, so Maggie isn't a complete novice by the time she goes to college. Her best friend is also a swimming champion and doesn't have time for a girlfriend, but he likes to hook up. She gets him to give her a few pointers, but the lines become blurred. Her best friend becomes more, and they become unstable. Can they go back? Is there even a forward solution?

This book has a lot of swimming in it obviously and shows the dedication needed.

I really enjoyed this book. Highly recommended. Thanks, NetGalley. 5 stars out of 5. One to add to the must read pile.

A Great Catch

A Great Catch: Arranged Marriage Romance

Book Review: ♥ ♥

This is my favourite book so far by Rocklyn Ryder. I love the arranged marriage series. They are all standalone stories. I couldn't put this one down.

Olivia is a sweet girl looking for the perfect gentleman. She likes a clean shaven man with manners and elegance. What Olivia likes might not be what's right for her. She signs up to the Raven dating service in the hope of finding a great catch.

Redd is ready to settle down. He just needs to find that special someone. He enlists his ex-girlfriend who has the kind of relationship he wants and joins the arranged marriage club. What he gets is more than he could ever have hoped for and Olivia is going to be all his, completely.

5 stars plus, loved it. Ryder has done it again and created another perfect couple. I just can't get enough.

About Last Night . . .

About Last Night . . .

Catherine Alliott

Book Review:

Molly swapped her City life in London for the countryside in Herefordshire. Now she is living the dream but not her own. Her Husband David was the one who wanted the farm life, but unfortunately, he is now deceased, and Molly is left living in his memory.

She is given the opportunity to trade the country back to the city. This book is about getting a second chance and being brave enough to take it.

I liked this book however it was slow paced.

Reaper's Claim

Reaper's Claim

Simone Elise

Book Review:

I have read quite a lot of motorcycle club books, and this one reads more like a soap opera. I have mixed feelings about this story. I was struggling to put it down, but I'm not sure why.

Abby is a twin and the daughter of the MC president. Her upbringing was inside the club, and she is used to the life. Even from a young age, she had to understand the danger of being around the outlaws.
Reaper can't help but be Abby's knight. There is something different about her, and he can't help but be drawn to her.

When we first meet Abby, she is still in high school (16), and Reaper is already a member of the MC making him older. This book has themes of young women and older men. It's a romance novel. However, there is also a lot of high school drama and family issues. It fits with Abby's age. However, I'm not sure it suits the MC style.

This book was ok but not one of my favourite. 3 stars out of 5.

Stealing Parker

Stealing Parker (Hundred Oaks)

Miranda Kenneally

Book Review:

I have a love-hate relationship with this book. At the start, I found it depressing and I wouldn't recommend you start reading it if you feel sad.

I enjoy this read however it took me on a roller coaster of ups and downs. It has heavily based religious themes which I didn't love.

Parker is the model student, daughter and Christian but her mother's actions change everything. She becomes an outcast and adjusts to deal with the cards laid out. Parker dates guys like hot meals and doesn't like them to get too close. She has her best friend Drew for that.

This book is about love, romance and acceptance.

Parker is a loveable character. She was funny, crazy, cool and a hot mess. Parker was also immature, too worried about what God thought and wanted to be accepted. She's a diverse character who I learnt to love.

Stealing Parker is an interesting read that kept me hooked right to the end. I liked the writing style and the main characters. It made me laugh in places. It offers something different, and there is minimal sports talk.

I didn't like the god/sinner theme it became too much. I didn't like the brother's storyline, and in places, it was a little too negative for my liking. The sex scenes also very cringe worthy. My last problem with this is the ending. It just didn't give enough to quench the thirst.

This is the second book in the Hundreds Oak high series but can be read as a standalone.

The books that leave a taste in your mouth sometimes get you thinking for days, and this book does that therefore it gets a solid 4 stars out of 5. Like I said I loved it, but I hated it.

The Dog Who Stole Christmas: A Brothers Best Friend Holiday Story

The Dog Who Stole Christmas: A Brothers Best Friend Holiday Story

Book Review: ♥ ♥

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Luckily it is only a short story, so I didn't have to. It's part of a series of books, however, can be read as a standalone (I haven't read any of the others, and it didn't affect the storyline).

I like Matilda's character. She is happy in her own skin and doesn't try to please other people. That's a cool chick in my eyes. Her funny and rude wit had me laughing all the way through.

Boomer Kendall is a big deal in Matilda's small town. He's a football hero and local celebrity. He is Matilda's brothers best friend and the start of all her problems. She's happy to tell him what she thinks of him even if the rest of the town worships him.

Boomer is trying to avoid his life. He has a contract to sign and people to please. His best friends sister is the only thing he wants to think about, but she's off limits and hates his guts. Two little problems but that doesn't mean they can't have some childish banter and maybe a little name calling.

This is a love-hate relationship with lots of sass. A really enjoyable read. I just wish there was more.

Smut for my Valentine

This book was sent to me as an ARC. However, I downloaded via Kindle Unlimited.

This book is a dirty read about a girl who is in love with her professor. Mia knows it is wrong, but she cannot help dressing up to attend his class. She wants to be his slutty valentine, and her professor just can't resist. They have known each other for years, but she has only just turned 21.

Hot kinky read with a minimal storyline. Doesn't seem very realistic however if smut is what you are looking for this book will go down a treat.
