Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies

Book Review: ♥ ♥

Wow! I loved the ending of Big little lies. This book is beautifully crafted and executed to perfection. I'm going, to be honest, I wanted to read this book because it has been picked up by HBO and they make some of the best TV shows. I would recommend this for fans of things such as Desperate Housewives.

The book is told from many people's points of views and slowly builds up to the finale. Everyone has a part. Everyone has their secrets and troubles. Just some find it easier to hide them than others. This book is based around a school and the relationships of the children. The clicks of the playground and how it affects the parents. The adults are all from different backgrounds and have had various upbringings. They all want the best for their children.

The mums in this story are the main characters. There is Jane the single parent, Madeline the divorced older mum and Celeste the rich, beautiful one. Big little lies has the complexity and diversity to keep you hooked right to the end.

This is a book about murder, but it's not that simple. The events leading up to that night is the story being told.

5 stars out of 5. A must read!

Then. Now. Always.

Then. Now. Always.

Book Review: ♥ ♥

This is the second book I have read by Isabelle Broom, and she has a way of hooking you with her words. She could sell a holiday better than any travel agent.

Then. Now. Always. is a dynamic read about a lady called Hannah who is travelling to Spain with work. They are a small team filming a documentary. Hannah is infatuated with her boss and can't wait to spend more time with her. Tom, her best friend, is the cameraman, and she will be sharing her holiday home with the presenter, Claudette. Hannah hasn't been to Mojacar since she was a teen. She is looking forward to the mystery and adventure the place can offer. When an unexpected guest turns up uninvited Hannah's plans are turned upside down.

Rookie Move

Rookie Move (Brooklyn Bruisers #1)

Book Review:

I bought this book because it was on sale for 99p and written by Sarina Bowen. It didn't disappoint naturally! Although, I wasn't a fan of Gigi high school past.

This book is a second chance romance. It's a hockey based story with lots of swooning moments. Gigi and Leo were high school sweethearts. 6 years later they end up on the same team and time hasn't changed a thing. Things are about to get hot and heavy.

4.5 stars out of 5. If you like ice hockey romances, this is for you. Sarina Bowen is one of my favourite Authors and she always delivers.

Like a Girl

Like a Girl (Completion #5)

Holly S. Roberts

Book Review:

Sports romance with a difference. Jordan's not a fan. She's part of the team.

The New Mexico Pronghorn are down on their luck. It would be nice if their publicity were about something other than their losing streak. This is Jordan's big chance to show what she is made of but the team a less than welcoming. Quarterback Aiden Patrickson wants a championship ring more than anything. He's supposed to show his support for his new teammate and keep his views to himself. If only she weren't so damn hot.

4 stars out of 5. It has sass, football and girl power.

Alpha Dragon's Virgin Bride

Alpha Dragon's Virgin Bride (Paranormal SciFi Dragon Shifter Romance) (Dark Sun #2)

Book Review:

This is the second instalment in the Dark Sun series. It can be read as a standalone. However, there is a lot of background information to digest which book one may have helped with (I haven't read the first instalment, and I found this one to be okay).

Desdemona wants a normal life or as mundane as possible, but fate has other plans for her. She is gifted and needs to seek protection from the witches temple.
She has a history with Titus an Alpha Dragon, but she's not sure his feelings are genuine. He wants a mate, and he only wants her. They need to get on the same page to work out they both want the same thing.

Holiday in the Hamptons

Holiday in the Hamptons (From Manhattan with Love #5)

Book Review:

Holiday in the Hamptons is a second chance romance novel. Felicity wants to escape her ex-husband. She hasn't seen him in 10 years, but her feelings are still raw, and when he invades her town she decides a trip to her Grandmothers is the perfect opportunity. Little does she know Seth's stay was temporary and she just set off in his direction. This book is about finding the place you were always meant to be. Time doesn't heal all wounds. A place in one's heart can be forever.

Holiday in the Hamptons offers friendship, love, a little laughter and the complexity of family.

This book can be read as a standalone story. I have not read the previous stories and this one made perfect sense.

He’s a mountain man who lives in an isolated cabin. She’s a drifter and not looking to settle down. Blaze thinks he can change her mind.
