The Debt & The Doormat

Poppy and Jazz have
been best friends from the first week of university. Whenever these two
get together trouble isn’t far away and things haven’t changed much.
When Jazz gets herself into financial trouble Poppy, being a good
friend, offers to help. She instead ends up being talked into swapping
lives, with Jazz insisting it will be good and help her get over her
broken heart.
Poppy is thrown into a new life, full of crazy
housemates. There’s fitness freak Izzy, horrendously beautiful bitch
Grace and the slightly gorgeous, if not incredibly grumpy Ryan.
Quickly,
with the help of Jazz, her life is thrown upside down. Madness ensues
and her need to please everyone gets her in more trouble than she could
ever imagine.
Before she knows it she’s got a fake boyfriend and
is hiding so many secrets she’s scared they’ll spill out any minute.
With a bullying boss, a sex crazed colleague, a mental mother and three
brothers each with their own dramas, life has gotten pretty difficult
for Poppy. And all of this would be much easier, if she could just stop
falling over.
Will she get her life back to normal before her brother’s upcoming wedding? And will she want to?
MY REVIEW:
The debt and the doormat is the funniest audiobook I’ve listened to. I absolutely loved it. Poppy and Jazz are a riot.
Poppy
needs to learn to live a little while Jazz needs to pay off her credit
card debts. This is a book about swapping lives. Poppy moves into a
shared house and Jazz learns to live alone. There’s a good moral to this
story but it’s supposed to be funny. It’s a comedy which as an English
lady I can relate to (not that I’ve been arrested lol). It’s about
balancing the white fence dream and having a good time.
This is kinda a women’s fiction book but it’s also a romance. I totally loved Ryan. He’s such a cool calm bloke.
This
is part of a series but each book can be read as a standalone. They
centre around two women’s lives. Ones rich and poor. It’s a light
hearted comedy with plenty of drama.
I received the Audiobook as part of the book tour. My review is honest and my own thoughts.
The Baby & the Bride
by
Poppy and Jazz’s lives
sound perfect on paper. Jazz has a new baby and Poppy’s getting married.
But their realities are very different.
Poppy must strive to
keep her cool new job with crazy hours, while trying to keep Ryan happy.
Before she knows it her wedding has got out of control, thanks to her
mother, the runners at work are bullying her, her parents are in
financial difficulty and she’s doubting everything and everyone she ever
knew.
Meanwhile Jazz is struggling with motherhood, something a
credit card won’t fix. Why won’t this baby give her a break? Will Jazz
be able to cope before she loses it?
And will Poppy make it down the aisle? Will Ryan even be waiting?
MY REVIEW: In
my typical style I’ve read these out of order. Each story can be read
as a standalone but it’s centred around two girls Jazz and Poppy. I
would recommend you read these in order as this is a series is great.
(My order was 3, 1, 2).
After book one Poppy has a new boyfriend
Ryan. He’s perfect for her but is she perfect for him? It’s time to put
the crazy antics to bed and grow-up. JOKE! Poppy is still a Bridget and
things are going to spiral.
Jazz has a baby, now it’s time to find her dream man. Being a mum is hard work but that doesn’t mean your life’s over.
Book
two is scandalous, funny and lovable. This is a fun audiobook which is
about juggling life. Poppy and Jazz aren’t perfect. That’s what makes
this series so great.

What is it about turning thirty that sends rational women into a tailspin?

exchange for it?
The real question is, can Poppy and Jazz
rescue their own lives before everything gets ruined, or will their own
stubbornness destroy the lives they've created.
MY REVIEW:
I
could see this playing in my head like a tv drama while listening to
the audiobook. It’s about two completely different women with different
life goals. Porn money & wannabe mummy is a comedy about lives
curveballs.
Poppy wants to be a mum. She’s been trying for a
while and the stresses of not getting pregnant weigh her down. She’s in
her thirties and her life isn’t going the way she planned. Her dad needs
her support while her sister-in-law seems to be steeling the show. Can
she find her own happiness?
Jazz has been waiting to get access
to her inheritance. She thinks it’s the key to her happiness but when
she finally gets everything she wants life isn’t going the way she
wants. Can she find the money/life balance she needs to make her family
happy?
I listened to this audiobook as part of a blog tour. My
opinion is honest and my own. I would recommend this book to readers who
enjoy life’s drama comedies. It has a serious undertone but is about
two women trying to grown up. This is the third book in a series but can
be read as a standalone.
