My Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
A
curse so dark is a fantasy suspense mystery. It's the first book in a
new series and a continuous story. Book one gives enough to quench your
thirst.
The story is told from Lily's point of view. She lives in a small town, Pioneer Falls with her sisters and father. Her parents split when she was young, and so far her life has been pretty mundane. Her boyfriend Kyle is part of the football team, and although he isn't the usual type everything has been going well so far.
Lily's life is about to be turned on its head. Her father goes missing, and the town she has grown up in is turning a little strange. The police are no help and Lily finds new allies in unexpected places. She needs to find out what happened to her dad. Pioneer Falls may provide the mystery, but the answers are closer to home. Lily needs to come to terms with her situation before it's too late.
A curse so dark is a little spooky, but not scary. The mystery is the biggest storyline of the book, but there is also a little romance and new friends.
4 stars out of 5. This was an interesting read with a gritty edge.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review as part of the chapter by chapter blog tour.
