Loving Lakyn is a gritty
read. It's not all happy-go-lucky and you should know this before you
open the cover. I really like books that have a slightly disturbing
quality. (Bully by Penelope Douglas is arguably my favourite book).
Lakyn has decided to end his life but somehow survived. Now his family are looking at him under a microscope. His Uncle has decided to take him in and his parents can no longer fight it. He needs a change in his life if he is going to find happiness. Summer camp is the start of this change. Scott is the start of this change. However much he tries to push him away it doesn't work. Scott sees something in him he can't see himself.
Lakyn is a self-harmer and the details of his illness are seen in this book. There is also some hot guy/guy action. This is the second book in this series and both are available on Kindle Unlimited. Both can be read as standalone stories, but Just Juliet is another great read.
I really liked Lakyn's story he's grumpy and stubborn. He hasn't had an easy life and once you get to know him I couldn't help but love him too. The book has a realist storyline and a dark quality.
Scott is the popular guy who is hiding from himself. Lakyn is the guy who can't escape himself.
