Now I need to make sure she gives me my next fix of her, even if she’s too stubborn to admit she wants to. She’s my addiction, cure and redemption all rolled into one. Her soul calls out to my own. I’ll make sure she’s as addicted to me as I am to her. She’ll crave me - if it’s the last thing I do.
Tell us about your main characters- what makes them tick?
Michelle loves her friends and family. Her kitchen is her world. She loves her life but once her best friend had a baby, she really began feeling the pangs of missing out on a great relationship. Damon, well he's been a bit obsessed with her but felt like he wasn't good enough for her. So, he sort of stayed away. He's moody and growly and wonderfully anti-social. Together, they make a sweet and hilarious couple that truly proves that opposites attract.
How did you come up with the title of your first novel?
I was with a publishing company at the time and they came up with it.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
No, I'm really happy with it and I think that it helps set up the others in the series.
Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
I learned that you can't please everyone and to just write how you want. I write the books that I would want to read myself. My style of writing doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone and I'm okay with that. It took away a lot of pressure that I had put on myself to try to make the stories pleasing for anyone and everyone.
Anything specific you want to tell your readers?
Just to be kind when reading and reviewing. Most indies authors do a lot of it themselves. We don't have the backing of huge publishing houses. There is always going to be something that we missed no matter how many betas we had or how many times it was edited.
How did you come up with name of this book?
I thought about how addicted Damon is to Michelle and it just clicked for me.
What is your favorite part of this book and why?
My favorite part is when Michelle tells Damon that it doesn't matter if anyone else respects her because she has a ton of respect for herself. I feel that in a lot of books these days, the heroine is either a doormat or just meek and always questioning their worth. I hate that! I want my ladies to be kick butt! I want them to know that this guy isn't the end all and that if they wanted or needed to, they could get someone who truly deserves them.
If you could spend time with a character from your book whom would it be? And what would you do during that day?
I think that it would be Michelle. I would love to spend the entire day in a huge kitchen baking. That would be awesome.
Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?
They came from my imagination. These are people in my mind that I kind of wish were real because I would really want to be friends with them.
Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story? Convince us why you feel your book is a must read.
I think that they kind of hijack the story. A lot of what happens in the books was not how I originally planned it out. They kind of just go their own way and I'm sort of just along for the ride. I think this book is a must read for anyone who wants to read about the girl getting the hot guy...after making him grovel. This book has it all really, comedy, love suspense and deep friendships. There's a little something in it for everyone.

Mellie has been hypnotized by a pair of gorgeous green eyes, attached to a very yummy package for months now. Unfortunately for her, her brain goes on hiatus anytime Morris Jackson is around. Looking like a bobble head whenever he asks her anything isn't the best way to go about getting a man like him interested. Not like ruggedly handsome men go for quirky, accident prone introverts like her. Plus, even if she did have a snowballs chance in hell with him, him being her brothers SWAT teammate doesn't bode well for her. A girl can dream though!

Too bad someone wasn't happy for them when the found their way to one another. Someone will make sure they don't stay together by any means necessary. They'll even kill to get what they want.
Nikki Mays is a pen name that was created from her maiden name. She is a wife and mother, who lives in a small town in New Jersey. She has been with her husband for a decade and is surprised that he's still alive. She began writing as a creative outlet after becoming a stay at home mom. She decided that she needed something exclusively for herself, not just being mommy. She has two crazy boxers that love to keep that "Evil" mailman out of the yard. Besides writing and spending time with her little hellions, she enjoys cooking & baking.
