Kate is a girl from a small town wanting to enjoy her last summer at home before she adventures out into the world. She has her own DJ business and works at an ice cream parlour. She's looking forward to spending time with her adopted family and her best friend.

She knows her summer isn't going to work out the way she plans the second her biological mother walks through the door and her cousin ends up moving in with her (she is adopted by her grandparents therefore they are all family). Her ex shows up in town and wants to rekindle with her but as we all know an ex is an ex for a reason.

The new boy Rory blows hot and cold enough to give any girl whiplash. I just didn't like Rory's cold edge.

This book is about life getting in the way and having to make important decisions about your future. The read was enjoyable however I feel Kate deserves so much more.

The title of this book doesn't really make sense to me. I feel it should be called something like the truth about life. There are more issues in this book than just boys.

This book can be read as a standalone novel or as a series which hopefully gives a much bigger brighter picture. This is book 3 in the series.

I read this book a while ago however it is on the short list for Best Young Adult Fiction on the Goodreads website and therefore I feel it is only fair to add it to my reviews. I love this book by the way. 

Emily is a 17 year old girl who has reached that age when she wants to know more about herself and her family. She is becoming more curious about her biological father and wants to get to know him and the other half of her family. Her father is part of a motorcycle club and lives/dies by their rules but all she thought she knew could be nothing like the reality that unfolds.
 
Oz is given the job of babysitting Emily and keeping her out of trouble. The problem is the second he lays eyes on her he realises he’s the one in trouble. He wants the club more than anything he has ever wanted but Emily is something else.

This is not your usual fairy-tale it is so much more. This book has made the short list for Best Young Adult Fiction on the Goodreads website and I have decided to make my way through the list to have a better understanding of why all these books made the cut.

Kensington is a high school senior and she was looking forward to spending her last year with her friends in her private school but things don’t go to plan. Her family have other ideas and before she knows it she is moving to the suburbs. Her perfect life seems to be fading quickly.
Her new neighbour is a hot piece of ass wrapped into a very dangerous package. Owen is the town’s wild card and everyone knows it. His family have a black cloud over their heads and people tend not to get too close. Kensington is like a moth attracted to the fires and just can stop herself. This book is about how complicated life can be and I have to admit I could not put it down. This is a dark emotional romance which is perfectly twisted.

This is a sweet romance novel about a single mum with an ordinary life. Her world centres on her family, her daughter Josie in particular. She keeps herself busy with her Art and her soon to be teenage daughter’s life. Being a single parent has its good and bad days and after many years of departure Josie's dad wants to be a big part of her life again.

 

Vanessa is not looking for love and probably would not even notice a man’s flirtatious advances. You could say she has given up on the idea of love. Her daughter’s new science teacher is very much interested in Vanessa. The question is can he get her to change her mind.
