Black Bird of the Gallows ♥ 5+ ♥ Must Read!

Black Bird of the Gallows

My Review: ♥ ♥ +

Holy hell! I couldn't get enough of this book. This takes the human/monster romance to a whole new level. The story is original and captivating.

I would recommend Black Bird of the Gallows to everyone that likes monster stories and love a taboo romance.

The house next door to Angie's is tainted. Would you want to live in a house where an unforgivable crime happened? Reece is new in town and has just moved into the creepy house. Now there are all theses crows surrounding it too and Angie is certain something isn't right.

Reece is everything Angie isn't. He fits into popularity at school without any effort. He plays sport and the girls are interested in getting to know him. He isn't someone Angie would normally notice but somehow they are drawn to each other. He has a secret and she wants to know even if it could be deadly.

This book is a teen read and not scary (It's just hard to describe without giving anything away). It's about truly loving someone no matter what. There are more strange happenings in this story than romance but it is necessary. The ending is perfect and the story was action packed. I loved this book. 5+ stars.

Her Fake Engagement

Her Fake Engagement

My Review:

Lottie has strict rules when it comes to dating. She is only interested in finding the one, so anything less than perfect will not do. No smokers, no artists, no beards. A good job is essential and ambition is required.

Lottie is a Manhattan real estate broker. She likes to get straight to the point and doesn't like wasting time. The apartment she will show you is the one you want to live in. You just might not know it yet. She's good at her job and she knows it.

Lottie's friends want to let down their hair and have some fun. After a night out, they see Brides-to-be's having a whale of a time. Free drinks and lots of guy attention. They decide to host a series of Fake Hen parties. Each girl takes it in turn to be the one getting married. They have a background story and they must stick to the plan. Lottie meets Tyler. She's supposed to be engaged and he ticks all the wrong boxes. He's an artist, has a beard and is unsure about marriage. Tyler does have a good job and he is handsome, but he isn't her type. He has a business opportunity for her. Tyler wants her to find his couch hogger an apartment. It's her job she can handle the task. No problem! It's just Tyler rubs Lottie the wrong way. So why can't she stop thinking about him!

4 stars out of 5. I can imagine this as a TV Rom Com movie. It's light hearted and sweet. I just wish there had been more of a happily ever after. This book is more about the chase than the catch but definitely worth reading.

Her Book Boyfriend

Her Book Boyfriend (The Awkward Duckling #1)

My Review:

Mace is smart, sassy, pretty and funny. she wants to find a boyfriend to take her to prom. Mace has never really looked for love before because she has been too busy with school work. She wants to find the kind of romance they write in books, and therefore, turns to them for advice. This is a how to book, only with bad advice. The ending is predictable, but the journey is worth reading. You see it's hard to find a boyfriend when your best friend takes up all of your time.

The chapters are complex, and diverse giving more than a romance story.

This book gave me a new favourite quote (this totally describes me!)

"I'm a book junkie. I admit it. If I don't have a book in my hand, I will die. It's called Bibliomania. Look it up."

I really enjoyed Her book boyfriend. It was funny, Witty and loveable.

K. R. Graces author info also brought a smile to my face.

This was a good start to a new series; The Awkward Duckling. It describes this book well, and I can't wait to read the next one.

My Review:

I love fake dating books.

Meg is a feisty rebel, but unfortunately for her, she has just been caught getting up to mischief. Meg has her reasons, but she is not big on sharing.

Luke needs to get his ex-girlfriend off his back. After catching Meg damaging school property, he decides she is the perfect girl to help him with his problem. He blackmails her into being his fake girlfriend.

This story has been written a million times before, but I really enjoyed this version. Luke may be popular, and good looking, but Meg isn't even slightly interested. She sees him as a spoilt rich boy. I like the way this book comes together. They are two people with a difficult family life who just need a friend to lean on. Hopefully, it will lead to more ;)

4.5 stars out of 5.
