                              Dark Tomorrow

When a deadly virus decimates the majority of Earth's population, 16-year-old Sawyer Bradshaw finds he is both immune and alone in a world that has descended into violent chaos. Armed with only his estranged father's shotgun, and an unrelenting desire to stay alive, Sawyer discovers that he not only has an uncanny knack for cheating death, but also for taking lives. Still, it is not long before he meets his match in a fierce and cunning teenage girl named Sara and by her side Sawyer emerges as more than just a natural-born killer, but also as a leader among men. Nevertheless, as quick as the young survivors fall desperately in love, they find themselves caught up in a series of conspiracies and twisted struggles for power, and they soon realize that more often than not, love, betrayal, and death, tend to walk hand in hand.

Dark tomorrow is a post-apocalyptic story about Sawyer and Sara. A virus broke out and wiped out most of the population. Sawyer lost everyone that meant anything to him. Now he is willing to do anything to survive. Food is scarce and finding water is essential. He trusts nobody and has learnt to get by on his own. The world is cruel and only the fittest survive.

Sara is lucky enough to still have her dad, Jacob. Their relationship is pushed to the limits when they are forced to leave their home in search of food. The journey is hard and it's hard to know who to trust.

This is a gritty read with a harsh reality. It contains violence and some crazy death worshipers. The story doesn't glamorise the new world. Survival is tough and some hard choices need to be made.

Dark tomorrow is a unique narrative read. I think it's written in the 3rd person narrative (Grammar rules aren't my forte).

4 star out of 5. It's unique, intriguing and a little outside the box. The author leaves the ending with a chance of more.

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
