This is technically book 2. It is not essential but I recommend you read Mercenary Magic (Dragon Born Serafina, Book 1) first. It is fair to say I am quickly becoming a fan of this author. I am loving this series of books and I wouldn’t even say I have a favourite, they are all as equally good.

Alex is Seras twin so this story is the other side of the coin. Alex like her sister is trained to fight the world’s evil magic. She is hired to solve a mysterious deadly crime which takes her to Europe where she finds herself working with an assassin. Everyone knows assassins cannot be trusted but Alex finds herself needing his help. Everyone has their secrets including her, but the question is who can you trust.

This book gives just enough to satisfy however the story with Alex is to be continued.
