A Shade of Vampire (A Shade of Vampire #1)
Bella Forrest
Book Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
This book has been advertised a lot on Facebook especially
lately and I cannot believe have not read it sooner because I loved it. It
reminded me of a cross between Beauty & the beast and Twilight (More Beauty
& Beast than anything). I have to be honest I’m a huge fan of movies and
books with this theme. This book is part of a much bigger series and there are
already quite a few books out there so I look forward to reading on. This book
does have an ending but it leaves you wanting more but that’s okay because it
is part of the kindle unlimited range.
Sofia is away on holiday with her surrogate family when she
gets into an argument with her best friend. It is her seventeenth birthday and he
is more interested in pursuing other girls. Sofia decides to take some alone
time to clear her head when she is discovered by an alluring stranger. That is
where her nightmare begins and she is about to be transported into someone else’s
world. She has never really fitted in well in her current situation but that doesn’t
mean the grass is greener on the other side. She is introduced to the dark
prince, Derek. She is enslaved to him as part of his personal harem.
Derek has his own demons to fight and welcomes Sofia as a
distraction. There is something about her that he finds fascinating and he can’t
help but be protective of her. She brings out the humane side of him and he
wants nothing more than to keep her close.
This is a vampire romance book which is set in its own
magical retreat. I loved this book and can’t wait to read more. I intend to add
the other books of the series to this review as I read them therefore if you haven’t
read this one already please avoid reading further as it may contain spoilers.
This book has been said to be better than Twilight and I have to be honest so far I would say no but that doesn't mean it is not worth reading.

I am quickly becoming addicted to this series as a sequel it most definitely didn’t disappoint. I would recommend you start at the beginning. This is another book free for kindle unlimited readers so if you have this I recommend you start reading this series.
Book two shows life after the prince of darkness but once you have had a taste it’s hard to go back. Sofia tries to get her life back on track and she sees everything she ever wanted before the shade quickly within fingers grasp. The problem is she cannot get Derik out of her head or the nightmares out of her head.
5 stars out of 5. Loved it.

A Castle of Sand

Book Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
This
one was okay but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first two. I think
the reason for this was because the prologue gave you a grimace of what
was going to happen and I just couldn’t wait to get to that part.
As
the synopsis for this book states this is called sandcastle because they
are a temporary state of beauty. The sea washes them away. The
temporary bubble they have created is about to burst.
Derek’s father
has returned to the shade and isn’t too welcoming for his sons choice of
mate. He has his own vision of the vampire paradise and it does not
include equal rights.
The hunters are stepping up their game. They are becoming more confident and gaining more knowledge of the shade.
The plot thickens in this book. Sofia’s past comes back to haunt her and it is just another ugly demon in the closet.
4 stars out of 5.

A Shadow of Light
(A Shade of Vampire #4)

I've decided this will be the last in the A shade of vampire series I
will be reading. This book is the background to Sofia's heritage and if
you are enjoying the series this book gives a lot of the answers to
Sofia's history.
