Dead of Night (Aftershock #1)
Carlyle Labuschagne
Book Review: ♥ ♥ ❣
I have read a few post
apocalyptic books and they are really difficult to get right because a
whole new world needs to be created with rules etc. This book reminded
me of a cross between the E4 tv show the 100 and the book Delirium by
Lauren Oliver.
This one is about a girl who has lost her memory, Opel. She has to trust the people around her when they do not trust her. Aecker wants to help her but his brother is more reserved. What if she betrays their secrets?
In a world where people have to fend for themselves and live in fear. Can love exist when everything is against you. Opel and Aecker are the romance characters of the book.
I thought this book was going okay until the ending. I don't do spoilers but there is no other way to say it. I like happy go lucky endings.
As for rating I don't really know what to say because knowing the ending which would defeat the object of reading it spoilt it for me.
This is the first book in the series therefore there may be more to come that pull this book back.
