The Boyfriend Whisperer 2.0

(The Boyfriend Whisperer)

Alicea Springer was Boyfriend Whisperer Enterprises’ top success story. That is, until her dream date, Ty Walker, dumped her a week before prom. Now it’s senior year, and Alicea has taken over the business and given it an upgrade using an automated matchmaking program designed to help her classmates find their perfect match.

Alicea has no interest in using the program herself. She already knows who her perfect match is … Ty. She doesn’t need an app to tell her that (or worse, match her up with someone else). In a moment of weakness, Alicea allows her friends to convince her to give the program a try. To her horror, it matches her with the last boy on earth she'd ever want to date — Darius Groves, the class deadbeat.

When she and Darius are paired up for a class project, Alicea learns there's more to him than his bad reputation. But the more she spends time with Darius, the more she questions their match. They have so little in common. Why did her program match them?

Can Alicea defy the odds and make a match of her own heart’s desire? Or will the matchmaker remained unmatched?

The Boyfriend Whisperer 2.0 is the second book in the series, however, can be read as a standalone (I haven’t read the first book).

Alicea is the president of Boyfriend Whisperer Enterprise. Libby is a matching computer program she developed using algorithms. It asks a number of questions to find a suitable match.

Alicea is pining over her ex, Ty is looking at another girl and Libby is telling her Darius is her perfect match. Ty broke things off with Alicea a week before prom, but she still wants him back. She doesn’t see Darius as potential as he is so different from what she wants. After spending time with Darius, Alicea begins to question what she knows.

Alicea created the boyfriend whisperer app to help her friends find matches but questions her own match straight away. Alicea wants Ty back more than anything, even though he’s giving mixed signals and wants to be paired with a different girl on a project. This book is upbeat and has a high school feel. Alicea has a great group of friends and finds her happily ever after.

3.5 stars out of 5. It’s cute and a quick read.
